New Tutor Orientation January 14, 2014

TutorOrientation1-14-14Our first orientation of the year will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. This is an hour-long presentation about Literacy Volunteers of Southwest Minnesota, adult learners, and how you can volunteer as a tutor or support literacy in other roles.

We primarily seek new one-on-one tutors. Tutoring is a wonderful opportunity to share you skills with another adult, while often learning something new along the way. There are many other ways to assist.

The January 14th orientation will be held during our drop-in tutoring night at St Stephen (from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Tuesday), so it is also an opportunity to meet some of our existing volunteers and learners. I hope to see you there.

There will be new tutor orientations in Redwood Falls, Tracy, and Cottonwood in late January and early February as well. More details will be available soon.
