Lake Benton Library computes

We just finished working with Lake Benton’s interim library director Shelly Finzen to hold a series of three Saturday classes at Lake Benton Public Library.  Class participants reviewed some computer basics, learned a bit about emailing and social networking, safety in cyberspace, and using Internet-based cloud storage through Google Drive.  We want to say thank you to everyone who attended.  We also want to thank Shelly, Charlotte Harris-Hoffstrom our outreach coordinator, and volunteers Brent Lamfers and Will Thomas for giving up their Saturday afternoons to teach these classes. A final thank you goes to United Way of Southwest Minnesota for awarding us a Special Community Projects Grant last fall.  This grant allowed Charlotte to do outreach with multiple libraries in United Way of SW MN’s service area to explore partnering with them to address literacy needs in their own communities.
