Family Literacy

Family Literacy

Literacy Volunteers of Southwest Minnesota works with families to support their literacy goals. These goals are quite diverse as are the families we work with.

Whether we are holding a “Pi Day” Science Saturday at the Marshall-Lyon County Public Library, meeting with parents of our middle school STEAM-ed program, talking with our adult learners,  or teaching Family Literacy classes in partnership with Marshall Early Childhood and Family Education, we hear from parents that they want opportunities to learn with their children. Parents want their children to be successful in school and want to know how they can make sure this happens. They also want their children to be successful in life and to experience the joy of learning new things and following their passions.

Please contact us at literacy.swmn@gmail.com or call us at (507) 401-7337 if you are interested in learning more or would like to volunteer with our family programs.
